To freeze the embryos for future use that are created via IVF, the technique of Embryo cryopreservation or embryo freezing is used. Vitrification is a special process to store these embryos. It involves rapid cooling of embryos to extremely low temperature (-196 degree Celsius) which dramatically minimizes the chances of ice crystal formation, hence increasing the embryo survival rates post thawing.
